These 3 youngmusicians are graduates from the Australian National Academy of Music.

An institutionbased in South Melbourne that prepares only the very best young musicians forlife in the very competitive world of fine music.

When musiciansgraduate from ANAM join major orchestras around Australia and indeed internationally.

Many decide tostay in Australia pursuing careers as soloists and or chamber music performers.

The Chrysalis Triois one such ensemble to emerge onto the Chamber Music Scene and Simply Music isthrilled to present The Chrysalis Trio comprising Katie Yap, viola, KiranPhatak, flute and Melina van Leeuwen, harp.

All 3 musiciansregularly play with the major Symphony Orchestra in Australia.

The Trio formed in2013 while they were still students at ANAM and drew their name frominspiration gained while taking breaks in the Royal Botanic Gardens from theirintensive rehearsals.

Their program forthe Simply Music concert will include compositions mostly by French composers.Ravel, Rameau and Debussy and a newly commissioned piece by South Australiancomposer, Natalie Williams.
